few of the adjectives I have heard about our 4th annual Run for Hope
5k”! Thanks to all of YOU for
making the Run for Hope 5k, July 26th 2008 so successful.
Without your support, contributions and great EFFORT none of this would have
been possible! The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported 850 runners that
morning….WOW! For those who did not
receive your t-shirts, you can pick them up Saturday August 9th at
the “Foot of the Rockies” 151 E. Harmony Rd. #2C , Fort Collins. Wear your
Zebra shirts with the reminder that YOU are making a difference – with your
participation many have now heard of carcinoid cancer, realize there is HOPE for
the tomorrows after the diagnosis of cancer and are a part of the day when
CANCER WILL BE NO MORE!!!!
See you next year, July 25th,
2009. Forever grateful, Jeanne Lambert Coordinator of Run for Hope
2008 Super Girls and Mentors
The race was amazing!! Congrats on a job well done. The race was clearly a
huge success. Our SuperGirls were so excited and pumped to be a part of it. We
only had one girl not show up – so we had 16 girls total run!! I’ll keep you
involved as we try to continue to make the program even better for next year.
Let me know if you would like to get together in the future!

Hi Jeanne
2008 Run for Hope to remember Woody Hesselbarth who lost his battle with Carcinoid Cancer 2008 Run for Hope to be run in honor and memory of Lee Curtis Ronald Van Iwaarden Journey added to Carcinoid Survivors Page What is Carcinoid Cancer? It is a neuroendocrine cancer that is often misdiagnosed because its symptoms (flushing, wheezing, diarrhea, or abdominal pain) mimic other conditions. Appropriate surgical and medical management options exist and may vastly increase survival time and improve quality of life!! Why the ZEBRA? In medical school doctors are taught that "when hearing hoof beats, think horses, not zebras". Since carcinoid is a relatively rare form of cancer, it may be thought of as a "zebra". Our zebra theme will help make people aware that hoof beats can mean zebras as well as horses. Carcinoid can be detected if it is suspected. Why the Sunflower? This logo reflects the mission of the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation. The sunflower symbolizes constancy as it turns to follow the sun, power, warmth, nourishment & longevity.
