Hi Jeanne!
I've neighbor who's a vet student in Iowa (Think they'e going
to concentrate on hippos!!!). She is on the tail end of a
teaching 'safari' in S. Africa and, If I understood correctly
(second hand through her mom) helped birth some zebras. While
we've used this amazing animal as a reminder that the answer
we're looking for is often found in the 'least likely' places,
it is a potent reminder that what we're looking for can bring
life where "camouflage" obscures the obvious. Your news is fantastic! Congratulations of 4 years of believing beyond hope that we would remain just an obscure little cancer. This is a HUGE step toward recognition of the magnitude of our struggle, and more importantly that folks can come out of fear to act and to encourage others to speak the
I still feel like I've the stamina to come to the race. I hope
to ride a recumbent racing trike as I feel more stable (and I've
never liked running!!

Dear Jeanne,
Woody died
this past Wednesday; he was diagnosed as having atypical
carcinoid originating in his lung in December 2003 (it was first
detected as a spot on his lung in Sept 2003), Ultimately the
carcinoid metastasized to his liver a year ago and he died of
liver failure. I would like to be able to post his story in
memory on the Run for Hope site. He participated in the 1st
& 2nd Runs and had already registered for this
year’s. We were going to do the walk together. He was loved by
the amazing folks at PHV Oncology and Front Range Cancer
Specialist; Dr Medgesy was his oncologist. I am asking friends
and family and his huge community of supporters including the
employees of the
